A school social worker role is available for a K-12 setting in Zeeland, MI, serving approximately 40 students. This contract position begins December 10, 2025, and is expected to last 12 weeks, with potential to transition to full-time. Onsite presence is required during standard school hours from 8:15 AM to 3:55 PM.
Key responsibilities include conducting diagnostic evaluations, writing detailed reports, and collaborating actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings alongside parents and school teams. The role involves monitoring student progress by collecting, analyzing, and graphing data related to functional assessments and positive behavior supports. Participation in professional development, particularly related to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) across the school, is also essential.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work from a program approved by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), including completion of a 500-hour supervised practicum.
- Current temporary approval, continuing temporary approval, or full approval by the MDE Office of Special Education.
- Experience working within school settings supporting K-12 students is preferred.
